The Ride to the Somme is a commemorate charity bike ride covering 250 miles over 3 days in memory of the cycling soldiers that fought and fell during the Battle of the Somme in 1916 and takes place in August 2016.
The charity event needed a website to promote the bike ride on behalf of SSAFA – the Armed Forces Charity, whom provide support for armed forces veterans and their families.
The site also needed to provide an online booking system for anyone who wished to participate in the event, along with a means for interested parties to subscribe to email newsletters using MailChimp.
We developed a website that met these objectives for the client, whilst also assisting with the creation and initial set up of a social media presence for the event on Facebook and Twitter.
The site was developed using WordPress and is now maintained by the White Rock Events whom are delivering the Ride to the Somme.
