We visited Rodney Parade in Newport on Tuesday, 29 March 2022 to photograph the UEFA European Under-21 Championship Qualifier Group E game between Wales U21 and Bulgaria U21.
Wales needed a victory in this Group E game to have any chance of qualifying for the UEFA European Under 21 Championship next year, but were held to a 1-1 draw by Bulgaria in Newport.
Vladimir Nikolov put the visitors ahead in the second half before Paul Bodin’s team equalised just three minutes later thanks to Samuel Pearson’s low shot inside the penalty area.
The draw means that Wales can no longer qualify for the Under 21 European Championship in 2023.
