Gwalia United’s FA Women’s National League Cup campaign came to an end with a 6–2 defeat to Swindon Town at USW Sports Park, as the visitors’ high press and clinical finishing proved decisive against a youthful home side.

Despite the strong opening from the home side, it was Swindon who struck first when a deflected clearance from a corner ended up in the net on 20 minutes.

The response was immediate. A quick throw-in caught the visitors off guard, Eliza Collie showed real persistence to keep the ball alive, and Casi Gregson finished from close range to level the scores. At 1–1, Gwalia looked right back in it.

Swindon, though, finished the half strongly. Annie Colston finished sharply on 39 minutes before Gipsy Viveash added another just before the break to give the visitors a 3–1 lead.

After the restart, Swindon’s pace in transition again proved decisive. Viveash grabbed her second just after the hour, and Colston struck again on 75 minutes to stretch the lead further.

Gwalia continued to push and were rewarded six minutes from time when O’Keefe slipped in Collie, who coolly finished into the bottom corner for a deserved goal. However, substitute Libby Davies added a stoppage-time sixth for Swindon to cap off a ruthless display.
