With the football season kicking off this month, what better place to start than the brand new South & West Women Combined League on Sunday, 1st August 2021.
The league which features ladies teams from the South Wales Women’s & Girls’ League and the West Wales Women’s & Girls’ League saw Pontardawe Town Ladies entertain Caerphilly Castle Ladies at Parc Ynysderw in the opening round of fixtures.
Despite Claire Bartlett giving the visitors the lead in the 2nd minute, Pontardawe Town Ladies hit back with three first half goals from Ffion Robinson (2) and Catryn Cook. Ella Stafford then rounded off a convincing 4-1 win for the home side in the 85 minute.
