We made our first visit of the season to the Swansea.com stadium on Saturday, 2 August 2025, to photograph the pre-season friendly fixture between Swansea City and FC Lorient.

Swansea City wrapped up their pre-season campaign with a 3-1 defeat against French top-flight side Lorient at the Swansea.com Stadium.
The visitors looked sharp from the first whistle and took the lead in the 23rd minute after a misplaced pass from Cameron Burgess gifted Pablo Pagis the chance to slot home the opener.
Lorient doubled their advantage just seven minutes later. Pagis was involved again, finishing from close range after good work down the right by Gedeon Kalulu – although it may have taken a final touch off Josh Key as he tried to intervene.
Things went from bad to worse just before half-time when Lorient were awarded a penalty. Igor Silva was brought down in the box by Swans youngster Arthur Parker, and Mohamed Bamba made no mistake from the spot to make it 3-0.
The Swans improved after the break and got on the scoresheet in the 64th minute. Liam Cullen calmly converted from the spot after Ronald was fouled inside the area. Cullen thought he’d grabbed a second late on with a close-range header, but the flag was up for offside.
The Swans will now turn their full focus to the start of the Championship season next weekend.
