We returned to the Swansea City Academy in Landore on Saturday, 18 March 2023 to photograph the Under 18 Professional Development League clash between Swansea City and Birmingham City.
Swansea City Under-18s had to settle for a 2-2 draw in their Professional Development League clash against Birmingham City at Landore. The Swans took an early lead in the 10th minute thanks to a brilliant free-kick from Dan Watts outside the box. However, Birmingham’s O’Shea Ellis levelled the score for the visitors.
Birmingham took the lead in the second half as Alvaro Ruiz-Rente tapped in from close range, but the Swans fought back and managed to earn a point thanks to a penalty from captain Richard Faakye.
The match also saw Under-16 player Callum Deacon make his first start for the upper-age group, having previously featured as a substitute in the previous two games and Jack Fanning made his debut for Swansea City Under-18s, after coming on as a substitute at half-time.
