We visited the Swansea.com stadium in Swansea on Saturday, 30 May 2026, to photograph a charity football match between an invitational Wales team and invitational Europe team, presented by Joseph’s Smile.

A host of Swansea City legends rolled back the years as the Swansea.com Stadium staged a star-studded charity match in aid of Joseph’s Smile, raising vital funds to support children and families affected by cancer.
Team Wales faced Team Europe, with Swansea favourites including Joe Allen, Leon Britton, Angel Rangel, Alan Tate, Neil Taylor, Shaun MacDonald and Chico Flores all taking part. Former Wales manager and Swans defender Chris Coleman took charge of the Wales side.
Wearing kits inspired by the gold ribbon, the international symbol of childhood cancer awareness, the teams served up an entertaining contest that ended in a 6-4 victory for Team Europe.
Helen Ward gave Wales an early lead before goals from Lee Trundle and Dejon Noel-Williams turned the game in Europe’s favour. Chloe Chivers and Noel-Williams then traded goals, while Trundle’s second strike made it 4-2 at the break.
An Almami Moreira own goal brought Wales back into the contest, but Noel-Williams completed his hat-trick before Joe Allen reduced the deficit once more. Luis Boa Morte had the final say, scoring straight from the restart to seal a memorable afternoon of football for a worthy cause.
Joseph’s Smile was founded in memory of three-year-old Joseph Yeandle, who sadly passed away from neuroblastoma in 2021. The charity supports families affected by childhood cancer through financial assistance, awareness campaigns, research projects and bereavement support.
Funds raised from the match will support Joseph’s Smile, two childhood cancer research trials launching in 2026, and several Welsh charities and campaigns including Morgan’s Army, LATCH Welsh Children’s Cancer Charity, Kids Cancer Charity, the Jacob Crane Foundation and the Kids Get Cancer Too campaign.
