We visited the Swansea.com stadium in Swansea on Tuesday, 3 June, to photograph the UEFA Women’s Nations League 2024/25 Group A4 match between Wales and Italy.
Wales were handed a tough lesson in their final outing before UEFA Women’s Euro 2025, falling to a 4-1 defeat against Italy.
The damage was done in a poor first half, where defensive lapses allowed Italy to race into a four-goal lead before the break. Juventus striker Cristiana Girelli struck twice, while Elena Linari and Sofia Cantore also found the net in a dominant display from the visitors.
Jess Fishlock provided a moment of quality and pride for Wales in the second half, scoring a stunning long-range goal from 35 yards to reduce the deficit with eight minutes remaining.
