Wales reached the FIFA Women’s World Cup play-offs for the very first time thanks to a hard fought 0-0 draw against Slovenia.
Before the game kicked off, Gemma Grainger’s team knew that a draw would be enough to see them finish Group I as runners up behind France and in doing so secure a play-off spot.
Backed by a record crowd of 12,741 at the Cardiff City stadium, teenager Carrie Jones shone for the home side on a night when Wales created history, giving women’s and girls’ football yet another huge boost.
