We visited the JOMA High Performance Centre in Landore on Saturday, 18 April 2026, to photograph the Under 18 Professional Development League game between Swansea City and Sheffield United.
Swansea City’s Under-18s were beaten 4-1 by Sheffield United in their final home game of the season, with the Blades proving too strong on a sunny afternoon at Landore.
The young Swans found themselves two goals down inside the opening 15 minutes, with Arlo Coubrough capitalising on a misplaced pass from the Swansea goalkeeper to slot home before Jayden Shephard doubled the visitors’ advantage shortly after.
Swansea worked hard to find a way back into the game, but two goals in quick succession midway through the match made the task insurmountable. Coubrough netted his second with a powerful effort from a tight angle, and an own goal shortly after put the result beyond doubt.
The Swans did show character late on, with Josiah Kallicharan pulling one back to give the home side a deserved consolation and ensure they finished the game with something to show for their efforts.
It was a tough afternoon for a Swansea side that showed plenty of heart throughout, with the performance all the more commendable given that several Under-16 players featured in the starting lineup.
