We visited the Swansea.com stadium in Swansea on Saturday, 18 April 2026, to photograph the EFL Championship game between Swansea City and Southampton.

Swansea City were left to rue a heartbreaking defeat as Cameron Archer’s last-gasp volley snatched all three points for Southampton at the Swansea.com Stadium.
Swansea made an encouraging start and were rewarded for their bright opening when Marko Stamenic opened the scoring from close range, giving the hosts a deserved advantage that they carried into the break.
Shea Charles drew Southampton level after the restart, but it was Swansea who continued to create the cleaner opportunities, with Goncalo Franco and Gustavo Nunes both unable to convert chances that could have won it for the hosts.
That wastefulness proved costly in the most painful of fashions, as Archer volleyed home deep into stoppage time to send Southampton back up the M4 with three points that will do their automatic promotion hopes no harm whatsoever, leaving Swansea to reflect on what might have been.
